Camlock Fittings

Camlock Fittings

Camlock fittings are the easiest and most widely used hose coupling on the market today. The camlock fittings is cost effective, interchangeable, easy to use and readily available from stocks.

Camlock Fitting Materials

Camlock fittings are available in a wide range of materials, the most common are Aluminium, Brass, Polypropylene, and Stainless Steel. We also offer Aluminium with Aluminium Handles and 304 Stainless Steel Camlock Fittings

Camlock Coupling Operation

The cam and groove coupling is connected by simply opening the coupler arms and inserting the adaptor into the cam and groove coupler. The cam arms are then closed under normal hand pressure to complete joint.

Camlock Coupling Applications

For pipe, hose, tubing and tanks conveying liquids, powders, vapours & gases including cooling water, fuels, chemicals, cosmetics, foodstuffs, offshore, pumps, adhesives, dyes, pharmaceuticals, pellets and many more.

Camlock Fittings Specification

Snaplock Camlock Couplings are capable of carrying gases, liquids, powders and granules. The applications for this ‘straight through camand groove coupling’ are limited only by the compatibility of the material and the seal with the media being handled, and the working pressure, it’s probablythe simplest and most versatile coupling available.

Interchangeable with other camlock fittings products originally made to MIL-C-27487.

Camlock Fittings Working Pressures Guidelines only PSI (bar)
These working pressures are given for ambient temperaturesusing Elastomeric seals. Higher temperatures and / or PTFE seals will reduce the pressure rating of the cam and groove coupling. In the case of Polypropylene the maximum working temperature is 70°C and at this temperature the working pressures below must be reduced by 40%.

Aluminium Cam and Groove Couplings are gravity diecast and may be anodised on request, particularly for military contracts.

Brass Cam and Groove Couplings are forged for 1/2” to 3” and sand cast for all other sizes. Check for other special materials, such as LG1 Gunmetal availability at time of ordering.

316 Stainless Steel Cam and Groove Couplings are investment cast. (316 is equivalent to the DIN reference 1.4404).

Polypropylene Cam and Groove Couplings are manufactured from acid resistant 20% glass reinforced Polypropylene.

Cam and Groove Coupling Threads
Standard Snaplock cam and groove couplings when fitted to hose nipples are designed to seal on the thread. Snaplock Male threads are therefore BSP taper to BS21 and the Female thread is BSPP parallel to BS 2779.
In cases where the nipple has a Male parallel thread and is designed to seal on a gasket, most sizes of Snaplock camlock couplings with Female threads in Aluminium or Stainless Steel, can be supplied with an undercut to suit.

NPT is also available as standard.

Other End Fittings
Hose tails are double ribbed for metallic couplings, multi-serrated for Polypropylene. Hose tails are also available to DIN 2828. Also available are flanged or weld ends.

Cam and Groove Couplings Certification
Full certification is available if requested at the time of order. However contracts requiring DIN 3.1 certification will be subject to special quotation.
