HP Series safety clamps are designed for steam and high pressure compressed air and other high pressure or hazardous applications requiring a safety coupling and clamp assembly. This reusable, rugged coupling series can be fitted or re-attached in the field without special equipment.
Widely used in oil refineries, chemical plants and other factories using steam as an essential service. Used for compressed air (especially in larger sizes), in quarrying, mining, pile driving, as well as other service duties. Also used for LPG, grouting, volatile liquids and similar applications.
Maximum safe working pressures are 3,750 PSI (259 bar) for ½” size, decreasing to 1,000 PSI (69 bar) for 2″ size, provided clamps are correctly selected and properly fitted to an appropriate hose.
These figures are given as a guideline only. Service conditions, hose construction and the manner in which coupling and clamps are fitted will usually be the determining factors.
Steam is a highly dangerous medium and every care should be taken to fit the correct size of safely clamp for the hose in use in order to prevent blow-off. If in doubt, consult an experienced hose distributor.
